Was ist das PEW PEW PEW Festival?
Edittion: veranstaltete in den Jahren 2018, 2019 und 2021 das PEW PEW PEW Festival. Der Titel PEW PEW PEW, lautmalend für Laserschüsse, gibt das Tempo vor. Künstler_innen-Gruppen werden in Duo oder Mehrfachbesetzung für Mini-Residencies nach Linz eingeladen. Sie arbeiten dort gemeinsam an einer Ausstellung, die sie am Ende der 4-5tägigen Mini-Residency präsentieren.
In the years 2018, 2019 and 2021 Edition: hosted the PEW PEW PEW festival. The festival's name illustrates laser-beam sounds and sets the pace. Artist groups (Two or more people) are invited to stay for mini-residencies (4-5 days long) in Linz, in which they collaborate on a show of their work, which will be presented on the lmini-residency´s last day.

Unter dem Titel GPS & Love Letters findet das Pew Pew Pew Festival im November 2021 zum dritten Mal statt. Es präsentiert 11 bildende Künstler*:innen und 7 internationale Musiker*innen aus Budapest, Berlin, Espoo, Graz, Linz, Rom, Saigon, Shumen und Wien. Sie stellen emotionale Örtlichkeiten in Frage, vergleichen physische mit virtuellen Räumen und beschäftigen sich mit politischer und persönlicher Intimität.
Initiiert wurde das Festival 2018 von der EDITION: und setzt sich zum Ziel einen Austausch zwischen lokalen und internationalen Künstler*innen zu fördern.
Petra Anne Bernard und Hannah Neckel, Atte Sakari Penttinen und Thomas Kluckner, Silke Briel und Nanna Kaiser, Lena Goldsteiner und Àron Lorincz sowie Thy Truong, Elitsa and The Fir Tree und Caroline Salfinger: Die Künstler*innen bilden 5 Gruppen und wurden mittels Open Call ausgewählt. Sie entwickeln vor Ort jeweils eine Ausstellung. Innerhalb von 9 Tagen werden diese Arbeiten in den Räumen des Atelierhauses Salzamt, der KAPU und der EDITION: präsentiert.
Das musikalische Rahmenprogramm bilden Performances und Konzerte von DJ Fadeless, Fantast, Mandi, Olmatri, Piece, Sch4tzi, States of Clay, Titus Probst und Rozi Mákó und finden in der KAPU und der Festival Lounge im Atelierhaus Salzamt statt.
Die EDITION: ist ein Kunstverein und Ausstellungsraum in Linz. Betrieben wird er seit 2017 von fünf bildenden Künstlerinnen.
Das Atelierhaus Salzamt stellt seit 2009 Ateliers für lokale Künstler*innen zur Verfügung und lädt internationale Künstler*innen zu Residencies ein. Die KAPU ist seit 1985 ein unabhängiger Veranstaltungsort und der Mittelpunkt für die Kunst- und Undergroundszene der Region.

The Pew Pew Pew Festival will take place for the third time in November 2021 under the title GPS & Love Letters. It presents 11 visual artists and 7 musicians from Budapest, Berlin, Espoo, Graz, Linz, Rome, Saigon, Shumen and Vienna. For the festival, the artists question emotional locations, compare physical with virtual spaces and deal with political and personal intimacy.
The first Pew Pew Pew festival was initiated in 2018 by EDITION:. Its aim is to establish and encourage an exchange between local and international artists.
Petra Anne Bernard and Hannah Neckel, Atte Sakari Penttinen and Thomas Kluckner, Silke Briel and Nanna Kaiser, Lena Goldsteiner and Àron Lorincz as well as Thy Truong, Elitsa and The Fir Tree and Caroline Salfinger: The 5 artist groups were selected through an open call to each develop an exhibition on site. Within 10 days these works will be presented in Atelierhaus Salzamt, KAPU and EDITION:.
The musical program will include performances by DJ Fadeless, Fantast, Mandi, Olmatri, Piece, Sch4tzi, States of Clay, Titus Probst and Rozi Mákó. They will take place in KAPU and the festival lounge in Atelierhaus Salzamt.
EDITION: is an art association and exhibition space in Linz. It has been run by five female visual artists since 2017.
Atelierhaus Salzamt has been providing studios for local artists and residencies for international artists since 2009.
The KAPU has been an independent venue and the focal point for the region's art and underground scene since 1985.

PEW PEW PEW II GOES INTERNATIONAL
For the second time, Edition: is hosting its festival PEW PEW PEW. For a period of one month, Edition: awards 6-day residencies to artists and collectives. The artwork produced on site will be presented during an opening on the 6th and final day. This year, we invited 5 international creatives - 3 artists and 2 curators, to headline the festival. Detailed information on the individual works and upcoming exhibitions will follow shortly.
